Great piece in Sunday’s NYTimes re: Eco Moms.
Terms like: Eco-anxiety (which DIAPER should I use?) and professions like Eco-therapists are strewn throughout the article.
What about Eco-paralysis? I mean, do you ever just feel stuck? stopped in your path and just plain unsure how to move forward through life with all of these shades of green to choose from?
When I find myself out and about and completely parched, having left my SIGG bottle at home (which I just read has issues as well- something about the interior leeching?!), and debating between utter thirst and buying a bottle of water, I feel eco-paralysis for sure.
When I use Ikea plastic spoons for my toddler, I feel stuck. When I empty my garbage and know that my garbage bag prevents all of the garbage from breaking down, I’m stuck. Eventually, some service will exist (actually it already does) , where you can just hire someone to green-ify your life for you.
How far will we go? How much do we as individual need to do? Is it so wrong to have a few cause blind spots now and then? Is being super green going to make me super nuts? Get me to a green, all-organic couch made in the USA so that I can sit and kvetch about this with a professional.
